At just two minutes left till to the halftime buzzer the Slammers were still holding on tightly to a slim lead but Kyle Jeffers put in two free throws and followed that up with a basket to see the teams out at halftime evenly at 32 all.
The Slingers pulled ahead in the third quarter, Jeffers once again opening up the scoring for his team. It was all about the Slingers in this quarter as they surged ahead to put in an 11 point gap with 2:40 left on the clock. Despite repeated attempts by the hosts to close in, the Slingers were able to maintain their lead throughout to end the quarter leading 56 to 50.
It was down to the wire in the final quarter and it looked like the Slammers would have a shot at pushing the game into overtime after a Calvin Williams dunk put them at just one point behind the Slingers with 3:55 left in the game. Determined to get the win, this only sparked a 7 point Slingers run and the game ended with the Slingers grabbing their first win since February 77 to 70.
